Global Support

The Companion Synod and Companion Congregation Program came into existence with the establishment of the new Evangelical Lutheran Church of America in 1988. ELCA synods are paired with Lutheran synods elsewhere in the world to work together as partners in doing God’s work, giving to and receiving from each other.

2013 Lenten Devotional Booklet

The Global Companion Table of the Minneapolis Area Synod is pleased to share the Lenten Devotional Booklet, Companions Following Jesus to the Cross, with you and your congregation this Lenten season.

The purpose of this new venture is to promote both the existence and importance of the many global partner relationships within our domestic synods and those abroad, and to
encourage other un-partnered congregations to consider establishing a partnership for themselves.

We are sending the booklet out early so that you will have a chance to share it with congregational members, friends and family via email.  Perhaps your congregation would like to print copies for use within your congregation, or send it out via email through your congregation.

As our companion partnerships grow, we hope to offer this booklet annually and include new partners each year.
