Veteran's Ministry
Essential Resources

For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor rulers, nor  things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.
--Romans 8:38-39

  • Don’t be quick to refer. Release your desire to “fix” the situation.

  • Be a concerned listener.

  • Most people do not follow-up on referrals.

  • Your moment together is what is  most important as the veteran continues the path of dealing with their issues.

  • When your conversation gets to the point of suggesting referrals, ask them what they’ve tried.

  • Ask them what they were told/given about this at their debriefings.

  • If you do suggest the person try a resource, follow-up with him/her to see how it went.
